Hu-tou Pei is located 15km from Tainan City. It’s a place where you can relax and unwind. Although it’s not popular among foreign tourists, doesn’t mean that it’s not worth a visit. If you happen to be in Tainan, might as well check it out.

What can you de here? Well, you can take a look of the serene pond under the shades of the trees while thinking of the good and bad times of your life. That’s so emo. Let’s just say you are free to think whatever you want while under the shade and enjoying the view. Cool? Good.

There are also tables for picnic. Families and friends are definitely welcome. Grilling equipment is available for use free of charge provided you bring your own charcoal and food to grill. I didn’t see a place where you can buy charcoal so make sure you bring your own. Take your trash with you too. Be a responsible tourist.

You can walk around the area around the lake and the mountains. The whole area is not big but not so small either and could take one hour or more to cover the whole area. There are many points of interest along the pathway according to this colorful map.

You can also try riding a three-person bicycle. It’s not easy to ride on it unless there is proper coordination among the three riders. Otherwise, you will look stupid just like this two Polish and Czech girls. I bet their European family and friends have no idea what they’re doing in Taiwan.

The hanging bridge here is good for taking picture. The problem is that I don’t know how to take a good picture. Can you see that white duck at the other end? You can ride it here too if you think the bicycle is not for you.
